Front windows broken

Post by avondale1701 »

Evening all I'm new to the club but I have more or less driven or owned everything
Rover have knocked out in the last 20 years with the 200 being my fav it even ranks above a Land Rover Disco 4 for me.
Anyway my 2 front elec windows keep coming out of the white plastic retaining clips at the bottom
of the drop glass to the point were two of them have now broken. So the question is where can I
get new clips from? I can't find them anywhere online and Rimmer bros as per don't stock them.

Have you broken the white clips or the glass? I have spares of both but the clips are not attached to the glass, hence why they're surplus!

its the white clips that are broken :( I took apart a 45 in the scrap yard but they are like mega clued to the glass
and I couldn't bring myself to smash the glass just for the plastic clips.....seems just to wasteful

Are you sure Rimmer's don't have them? XPart seem to think they have 19.

It is worth noting that this part is only listed for the R8 (200/400) and R3 (200/25). So if you can only get clips from a 45 in the scrapyard, they probably will not be suitable for your 200.

I have wondered if the pattern of these clips changed over the life of the R8?

Alviseven swears he fixed his with tiger seal; he has two early cars. My 95 the clips are loose in the glass and would need to be jigged, either using the runners and the regulator in the car door or using a factory type jig: hence why I bought twp pieces of salvage glass rather than mess about.
