Hey I'm new to the site too.

Are you sure your coupe has a Honda lump?
I was under the impression that all the coupe models ran K's. Easiest way to distinguish is the orientation of the engine and 'box. Rover K's are engine to the left, 'box on the right (as you look at it from the front) and Hondas are the other way around. Also the rocker cover is all cast alloy on the Hondas.

The gearbox has just failed on mine, only had it for a week!
I love my new coupe!!

Hey Marc, its definately a Honda engine, D16A6 SOHC job. think the coupes had them up to about a '96? i may be proved wrong on this though, but ive seen a few hona engined ones in the scrappy lately with all the scavenging ive been doing!!

Cool!

Those engines are very good. My brother had a 216 GTi SOHC 16 valver until the cam belt snapped.....on the way to have it changed!! He was gutted. We got the car for free off a collegue who didn't want to put it through another MOT. We had the neccessary parts from an older 216 so she gave it us (some people just don't know what they're giving away!). Went straight through the MOT with comments like "sweetest running engine we've ever heard in one of these" and "very low emissions for such a high miler". Shame to see it go to the scrappers :(
I love my new coupe!!
