My rubber bits need softening

Post by Vinny1979 »

:D

So my rubber bits have suffered a bit on the rover over the last 25 years and ive decided I need to do something, so for example,

door rubbers, window seals, bonnet hinge rubber covers, etc. All seem quite hard and rough to the touch

How do I try and get these looking and feeling better and get some more life from them

I needed to get back some suppleness to the wheel arch inner rubber protectors, so I thought that a hot wash in the dishwasher using a finish tablet might be good, the result was brilliant not only did the rubber get back it's flexibility but it was grippy and when refitted stayed in position without any adhesive.
