As the title tells is anybody here aware of the existence of a genuine coupé / cabriolet lightstone beige armrest with beige leather cover?
All the armrests I've seen on the web so far look grey-ish with black leather cover...
That doesn't fit our beige interiors.
Are clear armrests a legend, a fancy or a holy grail?
Thanks buddies.
I might be wrong but i dont think rover did any beige R8 armrests. All the phase 1 armrests i have seen were dark grey with either dark Vinyl or dark cloth lids. The armrests fitted to the late 90's ph 2 Coupes and tourers were black with a lid in dark/light grey or beige. Those are the only color combinations i have seen. There were light grey and beige armrests in the HHR 400, but those wont fit the R8 or R3 cars
My Rovers to date:
1995 Rover 216 Coupe in Nightfire red
1994 Rover 220GSI in Tahiti blue
2002 MG ZR 105 in Solar red
1995 214i in Nightfire red
Some R8s had Stone Beige(?) armrests fitted, typically this would have been on higher spec 400 saloons between 1993 and 1995 if a beige interior had been chosen. Most had a cloth cover, not leather.
If all else fails, you could buy one in another colour and have it painted with some paint colour-matched to your interior.

But following @Cromp85 advice, I assume that "There were light grey and beige armrests in the HHR 400, but those wont fit the R8 or R3 cars."
Regarding a swap in colour, I'd already thought of it, it's indeed always possible but even if dying the leather (or the cloth) in sandstone beige looks doable (I've got enough spare dye on a shelf), I'm much more reluctant about painting the body: I fear that the slightest scratch may let appear the original colour...

Just to confirm; The 93-95 cars Paul refers to are R8 400s (Saloon version of the 200) The HHR 400 i mention is the Honda Civic based Rover from 95-05.
R.E you concerns with painting; If the plastic is preped correctly and the right paint is used, It will not scratch off.
I painted an early centre console to match my dark grey interior and its still good after three years of rough use.

There's definitely been beige R8 armrests, at least in cabriolet R8s.
In France, the so-called "Special Edition" cabs (216 for the year 1993, and then 214 for the years 1994 and 1995) were fitted with all beige interior (dash, leather, door cards...) which extended to the armrest. It wouldn't have made sense to have them in a different colour anyway.
Here's a reference picture from a '93 216 cab :

Thank you for that.
I've got a stock 1994 214 "Special Edition" (with all the story, bills, the whole bunch of original booklets etc.) with all beige interior (dash, leather, door cards...), electric windows & electric hood, alloy wheels but no armrest at all. Weird.
As you may be a purist, do excuse the gear knob which is a fancy of mine but I love it.

As I've just found a decent beige leather armrest but with grey body, I think I'm going to paint it like it should be.
In case it may not be exactly the same beige, I've got a convenient dye on the shelf. Easier to paint than a black one!
It's the first time I'm offered a beige leather armrest: all the others I've seen so far were grey-ish with black leather.
I assume that all beige armrests for Rover 200 mk2 are holy grail!
I did try to find some info about the type of paint i used, I didn't have much luck. All i have is from the website of the paint shop i used: https://spraywellpaintsdudley.co.uk/pla ... -826-p.asp
Its called Sprint Plastic Paint, I had it mixed to colour and made into a spray can. The label does not say if its Acrylic or Expoxy based. The paint itself required no primer and seemed to etch itself into the plastic. It has the same texture as the paint used on the 25/ZR facelift dashboard, only it doesnt rub off
