Could anyone recommend someone or a firm to supply and fit a new hood on my 1998 R8 216?

I live in Watford, the one in Hertfordshire so preferably someone nearby if possible or prepared to travel and fit. If I need to travel then so be it.

Thanks in advance.

Bump

My requirements are still the same can anyone help?

I've got a small tear on the periphery of the roof and I have had to patch up the rear window. Will these be an issue for the MOT test?

Thanks

The hood doesn't come into the MoT.

Thanks for your reply Kriss707.

Yes, I did think of that.... being very safety conscious in these "COVID times" ;-)

It's not that bad a job to do. It took me an afternoon to do mine.

I understand not everyone would want to tackle it, for lots of reasons. I would happily do it again, or assist anyone doing it.

Thanks for the photo Chris, beautiful motor! That looks like a new hood and if so who supplied it, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks

Thank you, unfortunately I don't know who manufactured the hood as I bought it 2 years ago on Ebay for £70 from a guy who bought it & never fitted it. It took me 7 months to pluck up the courage to do the job *laughs*, but when I did it was easy enough. Going on the cars age (22) I'm assuming this is the cars 3rd hood, luckily whoever had replaced the original hood was forward thinking enough to use non-OE Stainless Steel screws & bolts. The lifetime of vinyl is 10-15 years depending on how well you treat it.

I did contact the guy after fitting it so I could put a recommendation on here for the company for other Cabbie owners.,but he could not remember. And unfortunately there were no manufacturer labels or stamps on it anywhere. If I knew I would recommend the company highly as it fits perfectly.
