Rare 1990 G reg Rover 214si R8 5 Door Henley Blue

Hello, I recently joined because I am wanting to restore my mums late husband, Rover 214si from 1990 because despite being on a drive exposed to the elements, it has 0 rust on it, the only things that have gone wrong is that the window, came out but thankfully didn't smash. In all honesty I hope to make it my first car.

This sounds an interesting story :)

It it's a side window there is usually one or two reasons for it - luckily both are relatively easy fixes.

I like to think of it almost as the 200 that almost got away, as the R8 is increasingly rare, and I believe it deserves saving, it rolls after a tow from my father's Subaru. It had a K-Series 1.4 /1396CC in 10 years it did 367850 miles. It wasn't mistreated just used for everything, shopping, French holidays, London to Loch ness. It was a company car at first, it had a A/C, but not the wood trim tbh I like bc I dont like the wood trim. The only accident it ever had was hitting a small rock on the end of a pier in France, which damaged the radiator so my mum managed to find a garage and they put window putty or bathroom sealant on the small whole and it worked and it lasted 7 years before my mums husband died, so though it was cobbled fix it lasted.

Nope not a typo, and it never broke down all it was well maintained, it plodded along

Like I won't deny that the number I quoted isnt exact but it is around that figure

See the July 2019 edition of The Viking for the highest mileage 214 we know of, also a G reg.

You can't beat those early K series...
