"The Real R3 Story" booklet to be launched on October 17th

Post by GTiJohn »

We are proud to announce that the club will publish an 80-page colour booklet next Saturday October 17th, to mark the 25th anniversary of the R3 Rover 200.

The R3 Rover 200 has been called 'The last all-British, volume car' but that's not entirely true...

This is a story worth telling and now has been told by many of those involved at the time. They have revisited distant areas of their memories, their lofts and drawers to recover lost parts of a fascinating story. Versions have been told before, but they are based on facts released at the time, and are therefore only partially complete.

The story covers the the genesis of the car, Honda's involvement, the switch to being a Rover-only project, the design and engineering, marketing and launch of, in Quentin Willson's words of the time, "This little Burster!

You can watch a short video about the booklet here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1kGEbE ... e=youtu.be from 11am on October 17th but here's a teaser advert - https://youtu.be/qpPdXL-TSYs

It will cost £10+p&p and will be available from our club shop from Oct 17th

Will you offer option for buying for non club members?

I am interested, but I am not member of a club and thus seems that I do not have access to club shop.

Yes, on the 17th there will be a public shop where you'll be able to buy this book. Some items, such as regalia, will still be restricted to club members only though.

Thank you for the information. These are great news.

I would be grateful if some form of link to the shop will be provided, possibly on this thread?

The public shop will go live in Saturday - www.rover200.org.uk/shop

We're retaining the 'members only' shop, not only for regalia, but where members can buy this book for the discounted price of £9.00.

UK p&p will be £1.50 as it needs to be 'Large Letter', due to weight.

How much will be p&p for Europe?
