I have a very good, rot free 25 1.4 which I want to fit a VVC motor in to.
I have at my disposal, a complete 2001 25 GTi 143 and a complete 2005 ZR 160.
The question is, what will be the best way forward? I would like to fit the 160 engine and the 150mph GTi clocks but as the ZR is running Pektron and it's a face-lift car, I anticipate issues making it all work.
Any advice?

Re: VVC in to 1.4 25
I think breaking the gti for just the clocks would be a waste if its just the clocks you want i have spares and Retro Sports Cars Ltd or kmaps will give you good advise for the wiring side .

The GTI fixed is worth more than the other two combined.
Re: VVC in to 1.4 25
Keep the 160 and sell or break the others why settle for anything but the best of the bunch
