Re: Restoration Show NEC
There’s a thread in the member’s section with the discount code for tickets.
The club will have a stand in Hall 5; cars on the stand are being finalised but we’re hoping to have a Streetwise packing something different and at least one R8 being titivated.

NEC Classic & Restoration Show 24-26/3/23
The club is delighted to announce we’ve been invited to have a stand at the above event
We’ll be in Hall 5, stand 390, next to the Sporting Bear’s Dream Ride arena.
Click here for the club member ticket discount code
We’ve got a few things planned, from celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Streetwise with club member Gareth’s lovely VVC’d example, our Classic Car Loan Project R8 owned by events maestro (poor pun semi-intended…) Paul and borrowed by Ian, and a new project R8 ‘Muriel’ (pictured below) named after the car’s previous long term owner, kindly donated by her family.

If anyone has any parts they’d like to donate to Project Muriel, please drop us a line or post below - anything of use gratefully received
We’d be delighted to see members at the show - so please pop over to the stand for a chat.

Motaclan are providing the service parts but there are others parts we need, such as a sunroof seal - does this come as part of the glass?
The indicator has been replaced and we have a matching set of leather seats to replace the worn cloth ones. Craig at RoverRevivals has promised wiper arms to replace the rusty originals.
The tyres need replacing, so if anyone has good quality (of a brand we've heard of), new'ish 175/65R14 ones, we'd like to know. Even better if they're on steel rims
A back box for the exhaust would be useful, as there is a slight blow.
We also need the vac lines and connectors used in the cold starting circuit of this early K1.4 SPi engine. Both right angled connectors and both the straight connectors on the other ends of the lines have perished.
This is a photo of the red and yellow lines with the remains of one of the brown right angled connectors (Thermac switch end) and the remains of one of the straight connectors:

This Mink leather interior will be going into Muriel on our stand

We know for the purists this might seem wrong as the SLi was not available with leather but you try and find any Mink interior these days

Re: Restoration Show NEC
Does anyone have any new or used leather repair kits that could be used on a couple of small rips and scuffs on our seats they would be able to lend to us or donate please?
There are lots on ebay for £25+ but we'll only need a little and want to keep the costs down
The worst damage is a rip near the top of the backrest.

Re: Restoration Show NEC
I have a similar coloured seat that need repairing in the same way and have been considering buying some of this to see if I can patch up the damage.
A local upholsterer never got back to me over the repair last year.
If you have to buy some I’ll buy whatever’s left from you.

Has anyone got a usable exhaust back box available they would be willing to donate please? The current one has seen better days...

Re: Restoration Show NEC
We've decided that we will be accepting offers for Muriel during the Resto Show.

If we receive an offer that allows us to make a suitable Charity donation, then the sale will go ahead.
If not, we'll auction the car.
Come and see Muriel, and us, at the show
Muriel is now MOT'd, will be serviced at the show, have the full leather interior fitted and made to look much better than she has for a while but will need the new owner to have the car painted, or kept with her current 'patina'

Re: Restoration Show NEC
Does anyone have a nearside, short front indicator spare please?
Muriel has shed hers on one of her 'proving runs'...
If so, could it be brought to the show or posted to a committee member who will be there please?
