Hi all,

I posted a wanted/for sale message a few weeks ago, and I have layed my hands on a great example 220 GSI R8 in British Racing green. 1994 and only 44,000 accounted for miles. The car is roughly 95% where I want it to be, but there's a few small jobs I need to get done over the course of thos year.

The front mud flaps seem to be I'll fitting and don't hug the wong like I think the should. The car has had new wings and sills so wondering if this has maybe contributed to the poor fit.

Front driver side bumper is a little loose so will need to see if it's an easy job to get this tightened up and secured properly.

Slight rattle when engine running on the chrome part of twin exhaust pipe. Hoping it just needs tightened up.

Some of the side trim plastics slide back and forth, so will need to see if there is some way to secure them properly.

I'll no doubt be posting on here as and when, looking for advice on how best to approach the above but overall really happy with the car and planning on getting it up to a really high standard and enjoying it on the odd nice day we get in the UK.

Hopefully this has worked. The car is a credit to its previous owners. I just have a few small things to do, to get it where I want it.

They had when new very thin double sided tape on the trims which would be trims off now now to attach tape or abit of back silicon down the back would stop them moving , wipe off with white sprint.

The front mud flaps have an internal steel stiffening armature. This may have expanded
as it corroded. Pity they didn't spend that little extra on something corrosion-resistant.

Love your car! Always preferred the 3door to the coupe - not sure why!

Thanks for the insight. I've attached a couple of close up images of what they're like just now. Do you know of anywhere I could get as close to OEM and/or a better fit? Thanks
