3 door 214Si 1992 - Panels

Post by NakedSci »

Dear all

thank you for this terrific forum.

I'm starting to restore my K reg (1992) 3 door 214Si, which was for first car and was wonderful. It's done 150,000 miles on its first clutch. I really looked after it, but I eventually took it off the road in 2009 when it began failing its MOT in a serious way: CO readings off the scale, leaking fuel tank, and lots of rusty bits in critical places.

It's been stored ever since, until a time when I had time, expertise and inclination to fix it.

I've sorted out the engine and am now embarking on the body work and structural bits.

The issue that confronts me is sourcing panels for the affected areas (wheel arches, rear quarters etc), otherwise I'm going to have to try to - painstakingly - make these parts.

Does anyone have information on where I can find panels for this car?

Thanks.

This eBay seller is associated with the club and makes various repair panels.

I'm in a similar position with my 1991 3dr 214S.

Thank you both very much. More progress in 1 day than I have made in months! Much obliged.

I've just had a look at the member's area and the links therein.

Confusingly, the information refers to R2D Engineering, and then in the contact form to RDS Engineering. I presume it's the latter?
