Does anyone know the part number for 91 Rover 416 driver’s door control unit for a car that has 4 electric windows?
The Auto function on mine has never worked so the window stops immediately I take my finger off the button after pushing the switch into the Auto position.
I’m guessing it may be as simple as a dry joint or a faulty component.
I haven’t taken the door card off yet to check the part number as I have the rear door already stripped to fix the window motor and do a few other little jobs at the same time.
Just wondering if anyone knew the part number or if they were universal across all electric window models.
I could then keep an eye out for another one to swap out the current one.
No problem if not known I'll just wait until I strip off the front door card and investigate further.

The Auto position is probably activating a latching relay in the control box for the windows, so the fault is maybe there rather then in the door switch. Probably need to do some experiments to determine where the fault is. You should be able to get replacements.

I think the correct number for RHD cars is YUF10020 for the assembly controlling just the front two windows, and YUF10034 for the unit with four switches. Presumably this is what you have. The one Rimmers is selling is for LHD vehicles from what I can see.

I think it's probably the control unit that is not working rather than the switch.
The control unit is behind the door card so should be easy it identify once I look inside. Just wanted to see if I could find a spare one in the meantime.
I've got the rear door card currently removed to replace the window mechanism and do a couple of other little jobs.
I hate having to many jobs on the go so I'll just have to get my finger out and finish that job so I can find out what's wrong with the front window.
I've lived with it for 28 years so I guess another couple of months wont make any difference

The Honda conrol units do nor have a one spot down option couid it be you have one of those fitted instead of a Rover one

That’s really interesting.
I guess I just need to work out what I’ve got and whether it’s the right one or , at some point before I had the car, the control unit got changed for the incorrect one.
A bit of further investigation probably needed.
