Engine identify

Post by Benj »

Hi all, I own a rover 420 sli 2.0 litre 16v
Now i looked up the k-series which is what i thought it was because the gearbox was on the left but it said they were only made up to 1.8 litre capacity, so what is mine? is it a t-series?

Yes it is almost certainly a T series. A rover engine, and very relaible. The only gripe with many of them is a weep of oil from the front passenger side of the headgasket which can be considered as normal.

i have noticed my oil does need refilling every 3-4 months or so, do you think this could be the oil weep from the head gasket problem?

If its leaking from the front right hand corner then yes thats the standard problem.
