The addition of this grille onto your R8 will not affect your ability to open the bonnet!

Incidentally, I remember that when Rover started adding these grilles to R8's (1994 I think), the sales of the models shot up. Amazing what a small cosmetic addition did for the model's image.

Cheers,

ok got a lil prob.... Found some at the srappy in near perfect condition 8)

Whats got me thinking is how the sellers on ebay can justify selling them for a buy it now for around 25 quid when the scrappy by me said and i quote "just give us a fiver."

Ok the prob... I cant get intouch with my brother to find out how he atatched this grill to his front. I really cant see him sitting there drilling holes in his hood incase he ever wanted to take it off...

So my question is: How do i attatch it? I know ive gotta take the lil grill thats on there already off and the original badge also.

Someone said to use something like 'no nails.'

I was thinking of something like the tape used for number plates, the real strong double sided stuff .......... of course this was untill i actually felt the weight of it :o

bloody hell its heavy

Edit: Oh i know ive gotta saw the original built on screws off already on the grill... If anyone is intrested i took it off a 214Si L plate that was rusted like you wouldnt belive so a few of the screws actually snapped off as i was unscrewing it.

My original idea was to get the different grill to cover the hood lock. The original plastic one that just clips on thats behind the original grill thats held on with the 2 screws. Image This isnt a pic of my car .. although mine is the same color. I cant get a cam yet of my neighbour to take a pic of mine. I put a black cover on instead of the brown/orange one in pic.

But then i found the combat full body kit, front and rear bumber + side skirts for less that £400. It has a grill that can be bought separately so i thought that id do this instead :?

Its interesting how many are now trying to change their cars to the earlier grilless look. Done properly on a high model without a badge it does look good! Colour coding the grill and meshing it looks good to.
