Having lost my locking wheel nut tool how do i identify what 'master' nut i need to buy?

wouldnt bother, whack an old socket over them and just buy a new set.

That could be the best option.

Not sure i really need locking wheel nuts on it anyway.

18MM will do. I dont bother either with them now just use a standard alloy wheel nut on all 4.
