Ive know fitted rear electric windows to my cabriolet.

Ive used universal motors addapted the loom and fitted the 25 window switches in my center console. For rear passangers they still use the winders at the moment.

Its fidley as there is not much space and you have to drill the winder bar to fit the cog and attach with a metel dowl pin.

My roof can know be put upor down without geting out the drives seat except if you need the tourner cover.

There a bit slow but will upgrade the motors know i know it works.

Next you wire them all to the hood electrics so they do their little 'down-and up' jiggle when the roof's doing it's one

Not yet but im replacing the retailing brackets and dowl pins and motor this week for stronger ones as soon as my fabricators have made them for me. Ill put some images up then when tidy

Manual winders for passengers not really a problem since I rarely take passengers!

No problem.

I purchaed a universal set from a car boot new the wim and a set of switches from scrappy.

They fit just behind the hood ram and over the bar the window winder gose. The problem is you have to make one of the cogs supplyed bigger in the center and then drill a hole strate thruw the cog and window winder bar and then attach to the car body ive wired tyem into the front windows electrics. Only problem is the motors are slow as the windows on my ones are stiff ive ordered a set from rs compnants to try.

My motors have a clutch in them to enable me to keep the winders but if no bothered you dont need that option. Im hapy the set i got have them as if they break i can still wind windows down

Im off all next week so ill add some images and how to.

Ill also get the details of the dowl pins needed and post specs

the pin idea will not work as this will chew up the cogs attached for the motor after a short space of time.

I am going to replace this idea by the following

Remove the manual winding gear and have the shaft the handle is on changed by making the teeth go all the way down the shaft and not just the end for the handle.

Ive 3 sets of the rear winding gear so i have given a set to my fabrication people and they are going to extend the teeth.

More images will follow but i have stopped at the moment as its going to be about 6 weeks until the teeth and brackets are finished due to there work load so they are installed but disabled cogs removed from motors and fuse removed from the loom extention.

the doggy cable ties are just to keep this all from moving until my support brackets are done

Did you get any further with this? I'm thinking this would be a good winter project for my man cave.

I have completed the drivers side and they work really well and as I've got to rewire my dash again the wiring could well change.

Passengers side will be completed by summer next year as cars in storage as needed space for a 7 seater safera as this is my next project for my partner.

When i get a chance ill put a few pics up of the work.

Any further update would be great - could be a nice little winter project for me.

Wiring details i can handle myself, but details on the mechanism setup / donor parts / workings / modifications would be most useful.
