Hello.. does anybody know how to dissasemble this fan sensor??

It is the low temperature switch (98ºC) of my Rover 214 Sli... It doesnt work properly and Id like to change it, but I dont really know how to do it due to its round...

The only thing I could get was to take out this plastic :laughing2

When I turn the white plastic connector.. It turns but the golden ring doesnt... So i cant get it out

Alberto,

The sensor is retained in the radiator by a rubber sealing ring. The plastic ring you already removed is there to stop coolant pressure pushing the sensor out.

All you need to do is grip the end of it and pull hard: it will come out and then some coolant will leak, so have the new sensor ready to push in.

Yeah, I suppose that some coolant will leak. The only problem is that I don’t have the new sensor yet :bored

I was going to buy one but I could not see any mark or anything written in the old one... So I don’t really know how it should be...

I found on internet a few fan low temperature switches for 214, with different prices and temperature ranges. For example, the first one has a temperature range of 96-88 ºC. However the second one have temperature range of 102-97ºC and its much more expensive.
Theoretically both are low temperature switches for my model, but how could I know what is the appropriated?
