Car speakers 200 bubble

Post by Seven »

Hi all
As I understand the front speakers in my 200 r3 are 17cm.

Would the following be suitable?

https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/pioneer ... -pair.html

Is the process the same as with the r8 cars re fitting? Ie you need to use the old bracket and pop the new speakers in?

Thank you!

Yes, reuse the old speaker shell/bracket.
A good upgrade is a set of 3 way speakers with the same size mid/sub, which includes tweeters and crossovers. I have this front setup on both my 220 and tomcat. 😎

Word of warning here.

We are talking about Rover 200 bubble - R3. Speakers on the link do not have water protective case, so they cannot be mounted in the same place as before as they might suffer water damage. They are mounted on the outside of the protective door plastic wrap.
Speakers on the link must be mounted on the door card in this case, so you cannot utilise old mounting points.

Any links to anything you suggest which would be a good reasonably priced upgrade?

You can buy waterproofing shields here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003642458788.html

Ridiculously low price. These fit around the back of the speaker before being bolted into the door, to provide an "umbrella" for any water inside the door.
