Rover 416 - Spark plug tube seals

Post by PGTips »

I have oil in all 4 spark plugs on my 1996 Rover 416 Sli Auto. I think the spark plug tube seals need replaced. I've tried Rimmer Bros but it's not looking good. Does anyone know where I can get a set from?

Thanks

Rimmer Bros got back to me with what they think is the part. It's Item 5 on the list if anyone is ever looking for them...

I got mine at Parts in Motion for my R8 416.
It was part of a Rocker Cover Gasket set.
The whole gasket set is about £8 and was for a Twin Cam

After I fitted them it stopped the oil I was getting in the spark plug bores.

Only found 2 geniue seals on their own and they were in Holland and over twice the cost of this full set and they only had 2.
Been fitted a year and seem fine last time I looksd

Thanks for your reply. I've already placed an order with Rimmer Bros and I'll see how I get on. Parts in Motion are a lot cheaper and I've bookmarked them for the future..

I’ve always found Parts in Motion very reasonable but that’s only my personal experience.
Although when I asked them to do a check on all the parts I needed to do a Cam-Belt change they told me that the water pump I had selected wasn’t compatible despite their website saying it was compatible when I put the registration number in.
Can’t be good all the time I guess🤔

Thanks for suggesting Parts in Motion. I ended up getting a kit from them for about £9, as Rimmer Bros didn't have the parts in stock. Everything fitted great.
