Where do you think this wheel is coming from?

Post by Dorchester »

I'm a bit puzzled.
Somebody told me from a Rover 800 series...
But this one previously had been fitted to a Range Rover by a then Rover dealer in 1990...
Thank you for your suggestions.

The badge looks like it is from a SD3 200. It appears to be planted onto an aftermarket wheel. Rover wouldn't have fitted the squared off badge (in the shape of the "H" Honda badge btw) to a circular wheel boss.

Thank you Montegoman.
I agree with you: the design makes me think of an Italian made Momo or Nardi wheel.
Despite that it was fitted by a Rover dealer in Lisieux (Normandy) as a birthday present to a Range Rover owner.

Finally I got it.
It's an O.B.A. one made in Italy
But it needs to be correctly tricked in order to fit nicely on a 200 hub. Hence the Range Rover hub as seen on the pic should be taken off and the compatible 200 hub modified (slight diameter difference, around 1mm).

It looks a bit reddish (note that colours aren't the same on both photos. Actually it's less red) but IMHO and for my odd taste it's doing the trick: it's not the car of anybody else... :cool

It's not exactly the same logo (rather an 80s one) but at least there's the Rover logo on it and not another and silly one. :tongue
