If you get hold of a vvc engine loom, it will more or less plug directly into your current body loom. should be quite easy
I have a vvc loom for sale mem 2 funny enough :laughing2
I convert mind years ago 160 bottom end and standard head ported with 155 kmap I lot less to go wrong and not a lot of difference between my 25 gti vvc .

More confused now :laughing2

What I've got is

Engine

VVC Loom connectors

K Series Loom connectors

I have ECU, Fob & all boxes from 1998 MGF.

Where does the engine loom join the body loom, being MGF loom are these connections different & can the MGFloom be adapted if necessary ?

im not overly familair with the MGF loom - but it certainly looks from the pictures to be "wrong". It could be adapted with a ot of work - but id' honestly get a VVC loom, like the one chris has from a vvc coupe. much easier, and it will all make sence. MGF is a bit too different

I had a more detailed examination of the wires today and the smaller connector plugs all appear the same. The large Blue one that I'm assuming is MGF Engine to Body loom connector is a different shape from the R8 Grey one.

I have Auto Electric knowledge & suppose the Blue connector wires could be removed from the plug with the Removal Keys I have & put into the Grey R8 plug, that is assuming that the wires are the same colour for function on both MGF & R8 ! But I don't have the confidence to be honest :laughing2

So the R8 VVC Loom is the easiest way forward I think.

Thanks for your help and advice so far, I will probably be asking more questions in due course :laughing2

Did you pull that engine from the ocean floor *laughs*? :laughing2

Just read the earlier replies about getting zero info from people about the conversion, drop Rover Revival a PM, he would more than likely oblige and drop some knowledge bombs for you.

:laughing2 its only done 68,000m in the MGF, I don't understand how people can't keep their engine bays clean ! :laughing2

It's going to get a damn good clean, paint & polish before it gets anywhere my show Cabby :laughing2
