Possible Meet at aircraft Museum

Post by 216secoupeessex »

Hi everyone thinking of arranging a meet at one of the below venues next year possibly May late June or August.
The first one is near Salisbury and is called Boscombe Down Aviation Collection http://www.boscombedownaviationcollection.co.uk/ and has a load of aircraft cockpits you can sit in on site, as well as complete airframes.
Website is very dated but don't judge a book by its cover -its well worth a visit.
The second one is the Gatwick Aviation Museum https://www.gamc.org.uk/.
Which one would people prefer and when?

They both have areas we can book as a club and get some pictures with our cars.
If no interest I will have to go on my own!

Ps Hope this post is ok if not please delete

My vote goes to Boscombe Down :thumbup

Much more accessible to most of us in the Midlands than Gatwick.

Ok great - Boscombe got the vote on the Coupe page as well.

I will confirm details once I have a date agreed.

Many thanks

Great to see an event potentially happening in the South West, where I'm aware we're a bit scarce on things going on... :mope

Thanks for putting this together, and if you need any support from the club, please let us know.

Yes the rubbish events diary in the South West is down to me as the South West Co Ordinator for the club for the last 18 months I’ve not had much feedback from members in the area previously and due to other commitments have struggled to get thing’s organised myself. So thanks for trying to set this up. Will delay the cam belt / water pump change until we have a date.
Thanks again for trying to put this together

No problem.
Together with the RCOC votes it looks like Boscombe it is.
I have messaged them asking for available Sundays.
I am away from 7th October to 11th but will post up confirmed date when I am back.
Think it will be end of May or July at the moment.

Likely to be a Sunday in May but will confirm mid October when I am back from holiday.
Hope I haven't trodden on anyones toes with this?
