Rover 220 Coupe throttle body potentiometer

Post by PaulR »

Hi,

I have a 1995 Rover 220 coupe, 2 litre NASP needing a new throttle potentiometer, which I can't seem to find anywhere, including Rimmer Bros, who say it is obsolete.

The part number is MHG10080. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul.

That part number isn't recognised when I pop it into a couple of portals my end - are you sure it's correct?

Throttle position sensor? MKG10004?

Fairly sure you can use a K-series one SLD100080, but dont quote me on that one.

Hi,

Many thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. The part number is in fact MHB 101170, not MHG 100080. It also has the code JZX 2963 on the front. According to Rimmer Bros, the throttle body and TPS on the 220 coupe were superseded during the production run, with the result that the newer TPS won't fit my car.

I've attached photos of the TPS.

Kind regards,

Paul Roach

You can still buy it new but as Land Rover part number MKG10004L

Put above part number in search and you will find numerous sellers. However the price is not small.

The part number ending in 1170 also cross references to MHB101360.

Can’t find stock of these anywhere within the network, although it’s worth a Google/eBay search.

I recognised JZX as a prefix from various A-R carburettor parts and other fuel system components.
So it's appropriate that Burlen list them as in stock, as Burlen now looks after SU carburettors.

Many thanks for all the replies - much appreciated. I managed to find one on the Burlen website, using the link provided by Crepello.. It's now fitted and the car is running well again. :clapping
