Streetwise Wheels

Post by Bean66 »

Hi All

Just out of curiosity really, though they look nice.

Were the cream steel wheels fitted to the base Streetwise, so multi circular holes (16 I think) fitted to other Rovers 25's or 45's behind wheel covers, obvs in black.

Thought it might be nice be nice to get a set and refurb them in cream.

Cheers Bean

I am quite sure they were never fitted on any other car: I believe they are 15 inches diameter.

The likely origin of these wheels is the steel spare wheel supplied with the R8 range from late 1994 instead of a fifth alloy. The centre cap is probably unique to the Streetwise!

All R3 cars used either a 15 inch 'space saver' spare, or a standard 14 inch steel wheel as used on all lower spec variants with the full width hubcap.

Hi

I'd be surprised if they weren't used on something else, after all why not use a wheel you already specced for something else, esp when there were car with steels as standard.

Tho i must admit i'd not considered the space saver angle, esp as mine has a full sized alloy as a spare and its a 2005 car so log after all the cost saving cuts.

Having looked around since i know the steels were 15 inch with 195/60's and there are some 15 inch Rover steels on Ebay off a 600, the thing i don't know is thew wheel width, offsets and PCD which are all kind of important so i was hoping someone would be better clued up than i am.

Hopefully someone has the knowledge or i'll have to keep on looking.

I think you missed my question here, my Streetwise is running on 17 inch Adendum alloys and quite nice they are,

I was looking to get a set of the Steel Wheels as fitted to the early base models i think.

From the odd picture i've seen they were cream with 16 small holes and a small black centre trim.

I'm sure not many base models were sold so i doubt original Streetwise steels are about so was trying to find out if anyone knew what other Rover used thast steel wheel as i doubt it was unique to the Streetwise.

The closes in looks and size is a 16 hole 15 inch wheel from a 600 but i was wondering if anyone knew the PCD, offset and width to see if they would fit.

In mentioned thread you have PCD and width of all alloys.

Rover Streetwise PCD 4 x 100, width depending on alloy or steel wheel, ET45
Rover 200 series of R3 body shape had steel wheel 5J, 14 inch, while Rover 25 had steel wheel 5.5J, 14 inch.

Rover 600 PCD 4 x 114.3, width depending on alloy or steel wheel, ET50
Rover 600 steel wheel width is 5.5J, 15 inch.

What you need to find are either:

Rover HHR (400 series) steel wheel 5.5J, 15 inch, ET45 or

Rover 45 steel wheel 6.0J, 15 inch, ET45

Be warned that Rover 400 and 45 had also 14 inch steel wheels width 5J and 5.5J respectively, ET45 on both.
