on a 96 400 sltd tourer , where is the actuator , whats it look like and how do i tweek it up a touch?

I'm not exactly sure on the Pug XUD engine but if you find the turbo you'll see a small cylinder on the side of the turbo (usually a couple of inches long and a couple of inches diameter), This is connected via a rod to a pin on the exhaust side of the turbo. This cylinder is the actuator. The rod is the actuator rod, and the pin is attached to the wastegate inside the turbo. Simply shorten the actuator rod (there is sometimes an adjuster or sometimes you have to pull the rod off of the pin and screw it further in to shorten the rod). It'll be fairly obvious when you see it.
