whats the best car polish to use
whats the best car polish to use
Hi everyone i was just wondering whats the best polish to use on a rover with the flame red colour.I have tyred a few but when i take the polish off i have tto go over it again another 3 times because there always seems to be streaks forming. many thanx dave
Well thats a bit of an open question really, gonna get a lot of differing answers, what works for one person won't necessarily work for another...
What products are you using at the moment? are you applying by machine or hand? It may be just polish residue left ont he panels in which case a quick spray of a decent quick detailing spray will get rid of the streaks.

Hmmm how long is a bit of string.
There are millions of different products out there, but the key to them is usually how they are applied. I've got brilliant results with really cheap polishes and waxes, and very mediocre results with premium products depending on how much effort I put into applying them.
Some polishes and waxes suit different colour paintwork, so you'll have to try them and see. I know some people who swear by some of the cheaper stuff on flame red cars (carplan triplewax I think). If you are getting streaks then you might be applying it in too hot a weather. Ideally you want an overcast but warm day for most products.

I use Spray and Shine. Have done on all the cars ive owned for the past year or so. I will never use anything otehr than this to clean and polish my car/s again.
I have used the cheap stuff and got good results but yesterday i used the turtle wax liquid and it looked a mess when i had finished takeing it off so now i have taken my brothers electric buffer and it has put a really good shine on the car.Thanx for your replys i was just wondering what the best products were dave

If you want the best finish give it a colour cut first with a T cut like product, then clay it. Clay bars give a stunning finish, they really do. After that wax it with something like Meguiars Techwax, which contains fillers to reduce swirl marks. If you do clay it you MUST wax it afterwards though because it will leave the paint bare and unprotected.
