i have some mg hairpin alloys but want to put some rover centre caps on them in place of the mg ones,does anyone know if there are different sizes and if so which do i need?

Just put hairpins on my cabby-standard Rover centre caps !

looking on ebay, there appears to be a couple of different sizes. the mg ones on ebay are 5.5 so i guess thats the size i want. theres some brand new ones with the new style rover badge at 15 quid but i cant bring myself to pay that just for wheels im only going to use in winter.

You misunderstand. I bought hairpins, took the standard caps out of the standard wheels and they fitted straight in !

i get it.... i think. what im saying is as some centre caps measure 5.5cm across and some 6cm across i probably need to get the smaller ones due to not wanting to take a risk on the larger ones not fitting. for example from the same seller on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rover-200-220-25- ... 335de3e870 and http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rover-200-220-25- ... 335de3e994 i wasnt sure if the diameter was the same or if the larger ones just bulged out a little more. think im just confusing myself now.

The centre caps you need for these wheels have a locating lug so that they can only be inserted one way up. I believe that these are 55mm approx in diameter. The centre caps are available with with old Rover logo, new Rover logo or MG logo.

I have hairpins with Rover logo centre caps fitted to my R400 bubble turbo.

i like the idea of the new style rover badge but im just to tight to pay extra so i'll probably settle for the normal rover badges.
