tyre shine

Post by discodude »

Hi all,how many people use some sort of tyre shine/gel?
Had it on car when i got her,but as i drove around it all flicked up the body work!
Just lately though ive been thinking of useing something on my tyres, but not sure what?
Would back 2 black work and be safe or that sponge dashboard shine stuff?
thanks

you can use back to black for the tyres but in my experience you'll only get a few days of shine. best stuff ive found is the auto glym bumper stuff. its a green slime you apply with a sponge, seems to last a good while.

:rolleyes I've used tyre cleaner/shines from £ pound shops.
:) Also used "back to black" cleaner/shine products.
:D Fatdave recommended auto glym bumper gel to me and i've used it on tyres.
:rolleyes I've used greased lightning brillant black deep gloss tyre shine.

:angel To sum up use the cheap sprays & back to black for quick fix clean & shine......for keeping the tyres looking better for longer,go for the auto glym :clapping ....regarding the greased lightning,i got it given to me from a friend, who does not like dressing his tyres, its good stuff though!

It depends on what sort of look you want.

I use tyre slick, but then I have a 5 litre tub of it from a valet chemical supply place.

Leave it on for the gloss/wet look. Wipe off for the matt black look.

:D Yeah, you can leave tyres either "shine" or "matt" looking with most products available these days.

Hi folks,

I use Meguiar's NXT wax on mine.

I use most of their range on the interior and exterior, and it leaves a fantastic deep gloss shine on all surfaces, including tyres, trim plastics etc etc, it's not that far of the same prices as Autoglym, but I found Autoglym leaves residue ( powder), and the Meguiar's doesn't.

I normally take a day to polish/wax my car in preparation for any events, and normally give her a quick detail over on the day after travelling.

I've used Meguiar's for a few years now, and as a personal favourite of it, would not go back to using Autoglym.

Each to their own, but I have been complemented a lot on the finish I have achieved.

:) Yeah, agree with you about Autoglym..but is was great for my '63 caddy all 18ft of it! because it had a lot of chrome as well the residue being left on at least it was not as hard to get off as a modern car...which is a pain with the Rover 214,around the door handles, window & door seals, sunroof, wheel arch trims(you get the picture)....Anyway,think its a great Polish :wub ,IF you've got the time!
:thumbup1 I use Greased Lightning for a quick result's!
