Took my door cards off to change the motor on the central locking. It never fitted over the top of the door well before removing it.

Now I have got it off its all bent and the carboard/wood of the card is all damaged etc.

What do people do to bend it back or atleast make it stronger and sit in the top of the door runner as at the min the inner two black bits stick proud of the door and it just looks a mess.

Has nobody had this problem before. This is my second Cabby with the problem and my old coupe had the same issue.

I have tried gaffa tape to make the thickness up and cause it to stick down but the weather strips still stick up and not bend over the door tops.

Why did Rover use such a cheap nasty setup, lord only knows.

Not had this problem on either of my cabbys but had a similar problem with a MG ZT, they were a b****** to refit once the edge had been damaged, ended up with a compromise by taping the edge, but it took a few goes to get it back on right.

Our cabrio has this problem - I've tried bracing it with epoxy resin etc but no joy. On ours the hardboard has started to delaminate so there's probably no chance of saving it. I'll just keep my eyes open for a replacement.
