I'm planning on replacing my steering wheel with a newer one from a later cabriolet / coupe, one with the two horn buttons and steering wheel controls.
Can anyone help me on wiring up the steering wheel controls from scratch? Ie there is no steering wheel controls on the current loom in the car.
Retro fitting steering wheel controls
Re: Retro fitting steering wheel controls
Not as easy as it sounds. You would need a rotory coupler, the indicator holder would need changing. Once all thats dont its just two wires in PIN1 and PIN2. Pin 1 is at the far left as the sit in the drivers seat.
Also you have to bare in mind that there was afew versions of the switch and the couplers and the chances of it working with any after market radio is very slim.
