stands where booked for the 200/400 owners club and not one car turned up .

you will be fined mega money if you dont show to this show! it would bankrupt the club

The club is exactly the same. The only thing that has changed is that the pillars who were once there are unable to donate as much time to the club as they once did (myself included). I am doing the best in the available time I have had, and gave the committee plenty of notice that I intend to stand down. Granted as 214Sei pointed out this has not been well communicated and I take that critiscm on board.

The only negativity seems to be stemming from yourself. Running events does take a fair amount of time up. I am some what dismayed to hear from Nigel that a regular on our club calendar was not booked (this will be the second time it has happened for this event under your leadership) along with the non-attendance where we should have had manned stands.

It is good that we have been accepted to the NEC this year, however as I have said we do need one core person who can man/take responsibility for the whole weekend or we need to let the NEC know that we can no longer attend. There are also numeous forms which need to be filled in and risk assessments which need to be undertaken to ensure the club is covered in the event of any incident.

No-one expects you to be there over the birth of your first baby, however what I do expect is you to be pro-active in finding someone who can man the stand as soon as you realise. That would have been as follows

1. Writing/sending me a mass email out to send (I can't send one out when I have not recieved the text to send).
2. Sending me an article for the magazine to advertise.
3. Asking Tom for the membership database so all members can be emailed over the matter.
4. Writing a letter to post to all members.

Infact none of that has happened, all that has happened is you have come on here to moan, be negative and stand down from events with no warning. Members don't want to read negative posts, myself included. We don't work all day to come home and go on a forum to see negative posts everywhere. What I do want is to come home, chill and enthuse about motors with others and look forward to future events.

Fortunately myself and Nigel intend to be at BL Day so will be able to hold the fort, however we will need to arrange to collect the stand equipment for the event if you are not attending.
