Modification and Insurance

Not true I'm afraid. If you have even the most minor or accidents then the police can and do check out your insurance details. If you have a modified/chav car or a bad attitude then they are likely to look in greater detail. If you insurance is found to be lacking then you'll be walking home and the summons will be in the post.

If you run someone over and it is your fault, and you kill or seriously injur them, how will you feel when your insurance refuses to pay them out, and their only recourse is to sue you personally for the damages?
What about if you permeantly injur yourself/passengers/family and your insurance refuses to pay out compensation?

Your totally irresponsible actions can have very serious reprecussions which can affect the rest of your life.

money isnt everything man.. whats compensation gonna do for ya if ur cripled for life.. seriously.

No that is very true. Look at another way. what if someone ran into you without insurance and paralysed you. Wouldn't you want some compensation to ease your suffering and allow you to get back some of the quality of life you have been robbed of.

Or on a less serious side what is someone sideswipped your car who didn't have insurance. What would you feel like?
