I never even knew something like the double din existed for 'our' cars till the Honda dealer showed me the box. But the interior should be the same, so i'm guessing this kit will fit every R8 with the same dash.

I will not be using the car on the track, only wanted some decent brakes for when I drive a bit sporty on some country roads. The stock brakes can't handle that because I already had warped discs on my old 216GTI :tongue

Some updates again, fitted my mud guards, received my calipers and started bolting everything together again. Also got my Wiechers strut bar, it's one-off, they designed it a few years ago but never made one.. :P Had to wait 8 weeks before i got it but probably well worth it.

It's resting, ghetto style, on blocks of wood because the axle stands were in use....

Great to see that the Japanese cousin of our cars also has an enthusiastic following: keep the reports and photos coming.

No need to show us the German thing again, though :laughing2 :wink3

Well, it's a shame to see i'm probably the only one in the Netherlands...

Tried to start the car today, has been sitting idle in the garage for 6 or 7 months now, cranked it over, a weird squeaky noise, a burnt rubber smell... stopped the engine and will check again this evening with my brother... Hope it's not something bad, maybe just the alternator stuck or something. :p

And sorry, i'll never post the german tank again ;)

That will be a seized alternator: my wife's 216 GTi TC did it after being left for a few months.

With help from a suitable spanner and some penetrating fluid, I got it freed off, fitted a new belt and it has been ok since then.

I thought so already, thanks for the tips ;)

I started it again, no weird noises this time but hardly any pressure when pressing the brake pedal.. probably a leak somewhere... :( Drove 200m, scary as hell.. :p
