hi all,
Long time rover MG fan here. currently own an MG6 and just bought a lovely Rover Tourer BRG 416 SE from a member of the forum.
myself and two brothers will be attempting to drive it to Venice and back via France, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria and Germany in 7 days as part of the Crumball Rally Thyndercrawl tour.
the car will be looked after and not trashed or painted, in fact I am hopeful I can keep her long term as I have always wanted a tourer!
we are raising money for the royal derby specialist baby unit who looked after our son when he was born at 29 weeks. Words cannot express how much we owe those people.
If any of you wish you can view he fundraising page and make a donation if it takes your fancy, the rally in July 24th until Aug 1st this year.
I will keep you updated on the cars progress in preparation and during the rally and will post some pictures ASAP when I get a file sharing site.
She has optional half leather and ABS with rear discs which is great!

Also glad to hear that you're not going to trash the car. Did you see the Tourer that was decorated like a Viking ship for one of these runs?
Surprised you didn't go for the 420GSi that was for sale considering the distance you're going to be travelling.

I did see the GSi but due to insurance costs and fuel economy I decided on the 416. Also this one has only done 62k and has full mot, 6 months tax and a recent full head gasket and belts service.

Well I am sure it will do you proud. As you can see, I have a 416 but mechanically it's very different from yours.
