Insurance

Post by Hammond »

I'm picking up a new car tomorrow but won't be driving it for ages (if at all) after I get it home so didn't really want to add it onto my insurance due to having to pay admin fees each time.
Has anyone ever brought insurance for just one day or a week? If so with who and how much?
If it's too dear it may well just be cheaper to add to mine then cancel it next day. :mope

I'm with Footman James and have 3 cars insured with them for last couple of years. I wanted to see how much to add this car I'm buying that's 22 years old so I can drive it home. May not use the car again so wanted to see what their cost is. She said basically nothing just the £25 admin fee to change the documents. It's not got an agreed value included but it's included in my 7000 per year mileage limit for the 3, now 4 cars.
Thought that was a winner winner chicken dinner. I may now even tax it for a month and have a cheeky drive around in it before probably stripping it and scrapping it.
(more on that when I have car safely on my drive as I will be offering parts for members on here that I don't really need or want, a bit like Vulgavour is currently doing!)

I'm with Footman James too - other combined policy quotes were just ridiculous. I've moved cars on and off the policy and often there's no charge, or just an admin charge.
