You have definitely posted in the right forum.......and I am sure there has been a discussion about headlamp mods within the last 12 months.
I can't remember the detail, but I think somebody mentioned doing something with a conversion that had been made for a Fiat Punto or Citroen Xantia???

Those headlights will require a fair amount of metalwork around the front wings and bonnet.
There are twin headlight and twin taillight conversions sold by Auto Fashion. Never seen them so get photographs before you part with cash!
See the price list at the bottom of this page - http://www.autofashion.co.uk/rover_200_mk_2.htm

Xantia? Makes me wonder if these can be made to fit? They look awful but if the improve the illumination I'm all for it.220 GSi turbo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 18, 2018 9:19 pm You have definitely posted in the right forum.......and I am sure there has been a discussion about headlamp mods within the last 12 months.

Just put the originals back in the show field!
If not are normal xantia units an improvement? I'm trialing those LED H4 ballasted bulbs right now. Seem ok so far!

Re: r8 headlight conversion
I fancy putting quad headlights behind stock shaped lenses.
It's one thing I really liked about the some of the Super Touring era BTCC cars.
Not had many cars with the right shaped lights to start with, so would be nice to get round to it on the R8.

Re: r8 headlight conversion
Thinking about this as said above myself... Thinking E36 projectors in custom made housings with lenses... Maybe original, maybe make some perspex ones. Big job but it's be worth it!
Re: r8 headlight conversion
E36 is probably the easiest way.
About the right size, holders for all the bulbs, adjusters, it's all there in one easy to find package.
Several versions too, normal / projectors / angel eyes... pretty much covered whatever your taste.
I'm thinking mounting them a bit higher so the top gets cut off by the edge of the bonnet.
Match up to what was done on the MG Z cars, just to hint back to factory styling.
