I recently fitted an oil pressure gauge to my Rover T16 engine (originally destined for a Rover 420, now fitted in a kit car). With a warm engine I am seeing 62 psi at idle and 78 psi under load. According to the T16 manual I should see 0.7 bar (10.5 psi) at idle and 3.8 bar (57 psi) under load.
Should I be concerned ? If so is there anything I can do about it ?

Re: High Oil Pressure
I'd be concerned if you tested it with two gauges and got the same result on both.
Are you running the oil cooler radiator on the back as well?
Where are you getting your feed from?

Re: High Oil Pressure
My first attempt was with a cheap Chinese one and the results were worse
So this one is a proper old-school mechanical one. Not using an oil cooler. And I put a T-piece in the oil warning light output so I could run both the light and a gauge.

Has a High Pressure pump been fitted ?

Re: High Oil Pressure
Not as far as I know.
Re: High Oil Pressure
It might explain the higher pressure if someone has 'fettled' the engine a little.
