Throttle body

Post by skelo »

What sort of throttle body is on a 1995 MK2 214 SEI?

Is it 48mm or 52mm? Alloy or plastic? restricted or unrestricted?

Cheers

Could only be the K series as the D series was only ever 1.6 in the 200

It will be a 48mm unrestricted plastic throttle body.

Thanks Stu, I wasn't sure about the 1.4's.

Yes it'll fit but you'll not gain much.

What I mean is you'll not get a big performance gain altering the throttle body in general, rather than you'll do better fitting X or Y.

Not that many people mod the 1.6 version (usually modders pick the 1.4 or the 1.8). But breathing mods will help, both inlet and exhaust, just don't expect a large performance increase as the engines are fairly highly tuned to start with (particularly the 1.4's).

Dave Andrews is a bit of a Guru with the K series so if you see advice from him on the net it is usually very good.
