Rough ball park figure £10k? my 216GSI [now scrapped] I think that was a pre-production car, anyways first registered October 1989 cost £12k

This J registered 216GSI auto that I'm scrapping was about £18k!

The Rover Dealer in Beeston was selling [second hand] 214 SLi's for £7k in 1993. I hadn't thought about the cost of servicing before splashing out....
Anyway the car needed a 24,000 mile major service just after I bought it, that bleed me dry until I learnt not to turn up on a Saturday morning & pay full price off the service manager!
