The keys are a couple of quid in Halfords and make the job ten times easier with less likelihood of damaging anything.

Your car is looking fantastic John

Are the door handle tweeters unique to early R3s?

I replaced the gear lever gaiter on my coupe, bit of a pain with the centre armrest but not too bad .
Didn't go for standard went for a grey leather similar to the seat bolsters

Thank you :D

All R3 200s had the same door handle 'escutcheon' but it was only certain higher trim levels that actually had the tweeter fitted !

The lower models had a blanking cap fitted inside, which does mean that an upgrade is possible with a bit of additional wiring from the main speaker up to the tweeter as it's unlikely that this would have been included in the wiring harness on the lower TLs. Does anybody know if it's there or not?

I do have a full set of the original front door speakers I removed now sitting in a box if anyone fancies trying this upgrade :cool

Did they change this when it became the 25 and ZR?

Can I also ask a question as this is the 200/400 and later are questions on ZRs permitted?
Not that I have any at the moment but I do have what I think is a nice ZR

Yes, the door casing changed when the 200 became the 25. I've seen 25s with separate tweeters and the lower trim levels may have these, or blanks, or a door casings without the tweeter hole cut into it. We'd need somebody with more specific knowledge to confirm this...

It's not a matter of being permitted, it's whether the 'collective' can answer ZR queries. There'll obviously be significant commonality with 25s but we may run out of specific ZR knowledge. Try it and see how it goes :cool

Cheers John
I've not had much contact with early R3s so didn't realise this was different. The cynical side of me thinks the later setup must have been cheaper to produce.
Ii thought I'd ask about ZRs incase there was some kind of stigma attached to them

It's possible they were cheaper , although there's not a lot to 'cost' in a 200 door casing... The primary reason was style - the 25, and 45, were restyled to take on a more retro-look to fit alongside the newly launched 75.

I suppose car clubs can have 'soft' or 'hard' boundaries and we've got a bit of both! When we expanded from only covering the R8 200/400 to all 200, 400, 25, 45 and Streetwise models there was discussion about including ZRs and ZSs but we decided not to include them as there's already a club for them. That doesn't mean we can't talk about them :D

thats looking mint john.
If you have the space why not keep the parts as if you are thinking of using the interior in it again you could also go back to some of external mods as it was all tastefully done and certainly not Barry boy.
If we ever get back to regular shows different looks for it would be good

Funnily enough I'm now keeping the ZR interior as they are a bit firmer than the standard Vi seats. I've got the 16" Cosmos wheels to be able to keep the Vi's 'Linford' wheels for best.
