Attempting to work my way quite speedily through this car.

Been sorting the water pipes at work while its too dark or too wet to weld the front on (or basically I'm too tired after work)

Put them in the blast cabinet, but its not really up to the job so i used a strip and clean pad on a grinder. Much better.

Then i found some splits that needed welding up. Think the tube is made of flat, that is bent into a curve and welded and it slit along the weld, so i cleaned it off and welded it back up.

Then found some grot behind a bracket so opened it up and used a hacksaw to clean it up. Then left them to soak all weekedn in Bilt Hamber Deox C rust killer.

Made serious progress today. I spent ages prepping the slam panel. I de-rusted the underside, painted it in Hydrate 80, then bonda zinc primer, then etch primer. Left it on the radiator to dry.

Then painted the underside in metallic green. Only doing the underside as all the top will be done properly by the bodyshop. The underside will be difficult to get to once it is welded in, hence me doing it now. I also did the rear side of the bonnent latch stiffener and the front bumper mounts.

Then i welded the slam panel to the car. I have very little shielding gas left, so i had to avoid the blustery winds!

Ground all the welds back and then gave it a dusting of etch primer to give it at least a little protection.

Also painted the inner edge of the nearside front wing, as it had been rubbed down to bare metal but not actually painted.
