Front exhaust section 1990 216 1.6 Honda DOHC

Post by Rovalex »

Right the front exhaust section really has properly fallen apart now. Need a new one.

I am guessing that the front exhaust section for a Civic/Concerto/CRX would fit as same engine but don't want to be caught out, does anyone have any experience with this ?

Can't find a 216 part on t'ebay but can find this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Exhaust-Fron ... 3670982705

Advice welcome. Also do I need a gasket to connect manifold to front section or does it just - er - bolt together ?

thanks...

Have recently fitted a stainless manifold and front pipe from a honda d16 engine to my early 1990 Honda SOHC unit - can confirm that the manifold fits beautifully but the first front pipe obvious fitted the manifold but was not long enough to marry up with the standard rover steel exhaust system. In the end reused the standard rover 2 to 1 pipe which fitted the manifold pipe lovely and then matched up to the existing system - as a result I have a lovely stainless new first pipe which is of little use at the moment. Dont know how helpful this is to you but gives you an idea - in my case both pipes looked identical till on the car. Seal between the manifold and the first pipe I am now using the gasket which honda use not the rover crush rings as I could not get these at the time.
can ping you the ebay link if you need but would need to find it now as have bought my second unit for the other car and not planning to get a third!
manifold is lovely BTW but a little more noisy than standard in set up when accelerating otherwise not noticeably different from standard.
