Apparently your car does not strictly need a Cat for an MOT untill after a 1994 build date?

Strictly your car does not need a cat even today so long as it meets the emissions laws. Sadly however a 1993 K series won't and so you'll need a Cat.

Sorry I did mean K series but D'oh you've not got a K series. I've no idea how they perform without a cat on them but I'd strongly doubt they'd pass a CAT emissions test.

My K-series has always struggled to pass emissions with a catalyst.

So did my old one. eventually I bought a new cat for it and when I removed the old one there was nothing in there, just a completely hollow box. Dunno where the cat went :)

(Someone must have let it out of the bag!)

Sorry I'll get my coat.

It has a de-cat on it now, but it sounds a hell of alot different as to when the cat was on, I presume there must have been something in there. I dont know whether to leave it off for the next MoT or not.

You'll need a cat on a K series to pass the MOT emissions test. Mine failed because there was no cat as it must have got destroyed somehow. Actually when I replaced the cat the car ran much better, (the rubbish on off throttle reposnse went away and became smooth again).
