Good news :clapping

There are few things more frustrating than a car that doesn't want to start.
I like Twin Cams.... and Single Cams...and now Turbos

I tried the earthing points (all that I could see) & didn't get round to the crankshaft sensor or compression test, however after replacing the mid exhaust it is starting first time every time since! Never realised the exhaust could cause a problem to starting!

Interesting! Was it blocked?

The cat collapsed on my BRM a couple of years ago which made it lose a significant amount of power when the pieces blocked the centre exhaust box...might be worth checking to ensure similar hasn't happened here.

I would think not as the reason for replacing was the rear of the pipe being corroded through & already patched (twice) before! I would think probably not enough pressure being sent back to the engine - I could be talking total **** here though as I am not mechanically minded, just trying to make sense out of the pieces...

If it can’t get rid of the gasses it would just choke it’s self in the combustion chamber, thus not start.

Totally plausible.
