Hello

Post by tkm4arks »

Hello,
I joined the club a short while ago after meeting a few people at the BMC show at Gaydon, I was there with my 418 SLD Tourer.
I own a few rovers at the moment a couple of R8 coupes, a 216 cabriolet, BRM, 25 and a MG ZR (up for sale soon),
My tourer is my daily driver a 2 owner car SAC reg and from what i gather the first owners were (stamped in the book) Rover Group, Company vehicle Dept, Longbridge and the sellers dealer stamp is Rover Vehicle preparation centre, Lawford Heath Ind est, Rugby, Warwickshire. The car did 561 miles before being serviced at Prep centre again then the second service was done at Exel vehicle processing, PDI centre Coventry at 3600. It was then sold by Hartwells of Bristol showing 3736 miles on the clock, I bought the car from auction in Poole Dorset and has only done 65000 miles.
Hope to catch a few more shows in the near future and meeting fellow enthusiasts.

Your Tourer will have been a Rover Group internally leased vehicle, referred to as the 'MVO scheme' - Management Vehicle Option - probably leased by an employee at Longbridge, Gaydon, Solihull or maybe Cowley.

They were usually run for 6~9 months then sold on through auctions to dealers.

There's the BL Autumn Rally at Milton Keynes next weekend... :D
I like Twin Cams.... and Single Cams...and now Turbos
