I shop around every renewal, generally get a better quote from people wanting new business, then I go back to current insurers with best figure and ask them to beat it :D

ROVER 200/400 INSURANCE SCHEME IS FOR ALL FORUM USERS!

Post by ChrisKnottIns »

Please don't forget to ring us at renewal time on the OFFICIAL CLUB SCHEME - 0800 917 2274 or 01580 752961. (Just quote the club name).

We are positively promoting this scheme because it's proving very popular and hopefully we can make a decent saving for you.

In fact, last month, we recorded out best ever income - that's in 25 years! - and the month before that, we had our record number of new customers in 5 years, so we must be doing something right!

One new customer recently quoted, 'I know people have already said this but i officially saved 50% through Chris Knott versus my renewal for my petrol VTS. far superior cover and i included my Wife too. unbelievable to be honest.'

I don't understand insurance, both your quotes and Adrian Flux were a joke for me. I paid nearly half what you both quoted by going with A plan, and HIC quoted just £20 more than I paid.

94 220 GSi Turbo, alloys, upgraded front and rear brakes, suspension, turbo, fmic, cat 1 alarm/immobiliser with fitting cert, car to be garaged at a PE4 postcode when at home, 26 with 6 years NCB. PE4 is a bloody good postcode so why the joke quotes from everywhere, it's not like anyone's going to nick a Rover.

Ended up paying about 50 quid more than flux quoted to insure both the Rover and the Peugeot for their respective uses.

I think I remember you bringing this up at the time.

i believe it was the specific Preston postcode which put the insurers off due to a big claims loss ratio in that area.

PE4 is Peterborough in Cambs, Preston is PR1. Most Preston postcodes suck, PR1 specifically because it encompasses nearly 2/3 of Preston. So those people with the 350000 houses get to share PR1 with all the ghettos that like to riot.

The PR1 where my parents are, is actually a very nice part with low crime, but thanks to the fact all the sh!tholes and council estates (nearly 8 miles away in some cases) seem to be PR1 too (thanks Preston council) then we all got bent over. They campaigned to be PR11 and PR12 a long time ago but the council weren't interested.

Yes, and that's why the claim figures for that area mean that the insurers give extra conditions for acceptance.

They have to protect the scheme for the majority.
