Rear Disc Size

Post by Kriss707 »

I recently replaced the rear 239mm discs & pads on the Cabbie.

The Motor Factor sent the wrong pads to start with, they were about 10mm too wide, they fitted the Calliper but overhung the outer edge of the disc & the Calliper wouldn't reach the carrier. I assume the wider pads are for the 262mm Coupe Turbo rears.

My question, for future reference, is what's the difference between the fitment of the two sizes?

Is the 262mm just a larger disc & different Calliper carrier & same Calliper as the 239mm standard, or is there more to it.

239 is correct for the rears but you can upgrade to the zs v6 rear brakes which are 262

I see, so is it the Callipers &/or the Carriers that are different to accept the larger disc & Pads ?
