I do agree. I've got 2 Noco Genius chargers which are permanently connected to both my 214 cabby & 75 V6 2.5 when garaged and not on a trip.
Quiet peace of mind now since several years.

Do they allow the battery to discharge slightly or do they keep the battery permanently topped up?

Easy to watch: when the light is green, not charging. Otherwise red lights are on and twinkling.
