I lot of highly polished cars present. Oh well, maybe next year.

Oh, and is the 'Kettle' (steam loco) genuine or a replica. I assume that there's a connection with Wolverton Works, given that it appears to be of LNWR origin.

The "Wolverton Bloomer" is a replica built in the early 90s by Wolverton Works apprentices. Wolverton is mid way between London and Birmingham and was chosen by LNWR for their Railway Works. It was the first purpose built railway town in the UK, probably in the world I guess. It was mainly a carriage works but built some locos in the early days. The works were, for many years, the home of the Royal Train. A small section of the works remain in operation.

We’ve had this info from Tom Morley about the MK show this year and next –
The 200/400 Class winner was Ian Spooner with his stunning 5000 mile from new Rover 213. Ian’s car has to be as close to a brand new 213 as possible! The runner up was Iain Turner which his gorgeous 214SEi. Another lovely low mileage original car.

It goes without saying that many thanks are due to all the car owners that brought their lovely cars along to the event and additionally to all the club reps that looked after the various model areas. A considerable amount was raised for the museum from all the donations the club reps collected up. Also, we were all grateful after a slightly misty start the sun soon appeared which always makes shows and events so much more enjoyable! Next year marks the 10th anniversary of the show so we will have to see if we can make even bigger and better than before!

Next year’s show will take place on Sunday 25th September 2022 - get the date in your diaries!
