It's becoming more accepted now most engines will have had the issue ironed out. Together with the cars becoming more of an enthusiast choice, less relied upon as daily vehicles, the values increasing, knowledge of how to repair the problem effectively & at a reasonable cost becoming more widespread, it's not the issue it was once perceived.
You'll always get the Fawadaah & Vauxhall lot banging on about head gasket failure, but I'd rather deal with a K-Series than a rattly, asthmatic CVH or a Z22 timing chain failure (of course, both manufacturers also made some cracking engines-the Zetec and C20 were great)...the wonders of personal choice & freedom!
